Day 1. Arrive Lhasa, To preempt altitude sickness, we suggest that you take it easy and move slowly. Optional night Tibetan Opera.
Day 2. Lhasa City tour(the Potala Palace/ the Jokhang/ Bakhor Street). Optional visit to a local tibetan family. the family will show us around their house,and talk about their culture like Buddism, Education, Medical situation etc. The family will cook us a typical Tibetan meal.
Day 3. Lhasa to Holy Yamdrok Lake, we will visit a village along the lake. In this village we will find a Tibetan nunnery, and many white stupas. After the visit we will camp at the river side and enjoy the beauty of this holy lake with a cup of hot tea in hand.
Day 4. Yamdrok Lake drive to Shigatse. You will view fantastic landscapes of the valley and snowy mountains, enjoy the special feeling of traveling in the wilderness, far from modern civilization. After arrival, we will proceed to a lively market to experience the distinctive local life.
Day 5. We will visit Tashilhunpo Monastery which is the oldest and largest Gelugpa Monastery in Tibet. It was the seat of successive Panchen Lamas. If we early enough we will encounter the bebating buddism course in the monastery. Around 13:00 we will drive towards to Mountain Everest. Overnight homestay inside of the Mt.Qomolangma/ Everest Nature Reserve.
Day 6. Very early start to watch the amazing sunrise at Mt Everest, on the way to Mt Everest we can have a stop at the highest temple in the world —Rongbuk Monastery. After we arrive at EBC(elevation 5,200 m), we will stay in a Tent Hostel. Once you had enough rest , you can stroll 3km to the monument of Mt everest. (Remember ?taking everything slow, so it might take you 3 hours to do the round trip.) You can send the postcards to your friends from the highest post office in the world.
Day 7. Whole day drive back to Lhasa with amazing scenery along the side. Lhasa Yamdrok Shigatse Nagqu prefecture Chamdo Prefecture Nyingchi Prefecture Mt Everest Shiatse prefecture
Day 8. Drepung Monastery literally means “Rice Heap” Monastery which is located at the foot of Mount Gephel, is one of the "great three" Gelukpa university monasteries of Tibet. The other two are Ganden and Sera. Sera is the second monastery we will visit in this day. “Sera” means wild roses.
Day 9. It is time to say your fond farewell to this magical place and depart to your next destination. Your guide and driver will take you to the airport or train station.
